Dipankha Yatra (Devanagari: दिपंखा यात्रा) (also spelt Deepankha Yatra, Dipankar Yatra) is a pious journey that takes place around the heart of Nepal "The Kathmandu Valley". Devotees walk through the journey barefooted to 131 religious destinations within 2 days.[1] The occurrance of the Yatra (Travel)is decided by the astrological calender. Dipankha Yatra is mostly celebrated by Buddhist as well as Hindu Newars of valley, the followers are guided by Gurjus of Newar community. It takes place only when the following five events fall on the same day:
1. Sauryamas Sankranti (First day in solar calendar)
2. Chandramas Purnima (Full moon)
3. Rewati Nachetra (An astrological event)
4. Harshan Yog (An astrological event)
5. Chandra Graham (Lunar Eclipse)

Mountains over Kathmandu

Setikhel has the first hydropower plant ever established in Nepal. The power plant is more than 100 years old and it is now a living museum.

View from Changu Narayan

The ancient temple of Changu Narayana is located on a high hilltop that is also known as Changu or Dolagiri. The temple is surrounded by forest with champak tree and a small village, known as Changu Village. The temple is located in Changu VDC of Bhaktapur District, Nepal. This hill is about 8 miles east of Kathmandu and a few miles north of Bhaktapur. The Manahara River flows beside the hill. This shrine is dedicated to Lord Visnu and held in especial reverence by the Hindu people. This temple is considered as the oldest temple in Nepal. (src: Wikipedia)
